Where trouble melts like lemondrops

Looking for alaska

that. from a hundred miles an hour to asleep in a nanosecond.
I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep.
not ****, like in those movies.
not even have sex.
just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase.
but I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend
and I was gawky and she was gorgeous
and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly facinating.
so I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain,
I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.

Four for you Glen Coco, you go Glen Coco

"he dies"

When king Lear dies in act 5, do you know what Shakespear has written?
He's written "he dies"
That's all, nothing more.
No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words.
The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is:
"he dies"
It takes Shakespear, a genius, to come up with "he dies"
And then every time i read those two words, i find my self overwhelmed with dysphoria.
And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "he dies"
but because of the life we saw prior to the words.
I've lived all five of my acts
And I'm not asking you to be happy that I must go
I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading and let the next story begin
And if anyone ever asks what became of me,
you will relate my life and all it's wonder
and end it with a simple and modest "he died"
